I’m excited to announce that I’ve joined Lumavate as chairman and chief executive officer. It’s been quite a few years since I’ve been in a full-time operating role at a company. I’ve spent the last decade investing in and mentoring numerous companies in Indiana. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time advising entrepreneurs throughout the state on how to build and grow their businesses. During this time, I’ve been exposed to countless opportunities, and the way Lumavate allows brands to leverage mobile is one of the best I have seen. My desire to join Lumavate was initially sparked by this phenomenal opportunity. Mobile is in the midst of a fundamental shift that will transform how brands interact with consumers on mobile devices, and Lumavate is poised to play a significant role in this shift. So a number of things converged to get me excited enough to commit to a full-time role. The opportunity to build Lumavate into something great, the chance to work with Bill Godfrey and the amazing Lumavate team, and a bug to “do it again”.Currently, consumers have to visit the app store to download and update a native mobile app. While consumers were initially enamored with the app store after its launch in 2009, there has been a steady decline in the number of new apps a consumer downloads. In fact, 49 percent of smartphone users do not download a single mobile app each month. It’s time for a change and that’s where cloud-based mobile apps built with Lumavate come in. Using Google’s Progressive Web App (PWA) guidelines, cloud-based mobile apps have the same look and feel of a native mobile app without the download. Cloud-based mobile apps provide consumers with all of the same functionality of a native mobile app with lightning fast speed. Major brands such as Starbucks, Uber, Twitter, and more have already taken advantage of this mobile tech shift, and it won’t be long until cloud-based mobile apps are the primary way consumers engage with brands on mobile. With this shift to cloud-based, rather than having a single, monolithic app, the brand will have many, many apps–one for each step in the customer journey. The Lumavate platform is designed to capitalize on this shift in mobile tech by enabling companies to build many cloud-based mobile apps. Think about creating and publishing a mobile experience in 30 minutes. Our enterprise SaaS platform allows companies to deliver these highly-personalized mobile experiences throughout their entire customer journey. Using smart activation methods such as near-field communication (NFC), QR codes, text, and click, brands can provide mobile experiences specific to where a customer is in their journey with the brand and provide only the information a customer needs in that specific moment. It’s a completely different way for brands to think about mobile. It’s about making mobile highly-personalized and exponential for an organization. And, it’s why I believe there is unlimited potential for Lumavate. I look forward to working with the Lumavate team and our outstanding customers to transform the future of mobile together.
